What makes a rug stand out above the rest?

“I believe it has less to do with design and more to do with texture, color and subtle variation. Since a rug is essentially a series of individual knots on a flat plane, there are artistic limitations to what can be achieved. The Driscoll Robbins Collection strives to push these boundaries and create rugs as original artistry for the floor. By using the finest Himalayan wool blended with Chinese silk, and lots of subtle dye changes, the carpets have a velvety, almost painterly quality.

I started working on the collection 6 years ago and quickly realized I had something special. The series now includes over 30 designs and many new creations are in the works. The amount of craftsmanship that goes into each carpet is so labor intensive, the selection will remain limited and available only through our Seattle location.”

The Driscoll Robbins Collection

Each carpet is woven on a loom with a blend of Himalayan wool and Chinese silk spun together. To achieve a painterly quality, the weavers follow a detailed graph indicating when one color ends and another begins. At times there are up to 20 different colors in a rug, all of which are painstakingly dyed by hand. The fruits of this labor are rugs that shimmer and have a life of their own.

• Corner samples are available for most rugs and all designs can be custom sized.

• Selection is only a sampling of our inventory

The Driscoll Robbins Collection is a small, limited series of carpets and is only available at our Seattle Showroom.
